Press release
In the internationally renowned 100+ Accelerator competition, watttron was the only company from Germany to be selected. Of the approximately 1800 applications worldwide, 35 other start-ups were nominated for the 2021 cohort, in addition to watttron. The goal of the 100+ Accelerator is to support young companies in expanding their processes and growth. The pressing challenges facing humanity and thus the economy can only be solved by large international companies working together with young ideas. This year, the competition is working with renowned partners such as Anheuser-Busch InBev, The Coca-Cola Company, Unilever and Colgate-Palmolive.
“Participating in the 100+ Accelerator is an enormous benefit for us because we receive a lot of knowledge transfer from global players and can demonstrate the advantages of our technology live on real machines,” Marcus Stein, CEO of watttron GmbH, is pleased to say. “In the future, we want to serve customer requirements worldwide with our innovative platform technology and are therefore eager to further strengthen our competences with international groups during this program. We look forward to exchanging experiences with all participants and especially with brand manufacturers in the consumer goods sector.”
As part of the competition, the Freital-based company was selected as the winner in the field of Circular Packaging. Sustainability and efficiency, especially in packaging, are precisely the topics that drive watttron. By using watttron technology, resources can be conserved and recycled materials can be processed.
The first pilot project in the 100+ Accelerator will be carried out by watttron together with Colgate-Palmolive. Details are of course subject to secrecy, but in the course of the collaboration, the first watttron system in a South American factory will ensure greater sustainability.
The Saxon technology startup watttron develops and produces novel heating systems that are used in industrial processes for precise temperature control. The patented heating technology enables, among other things, the optimization of packaging in terms of material and energy use. The process allows precise temperature control even for large areas to be heated, thus facilitating the processing of bio-based and recycled materials.
