In cooperation with the Chair of Processing Machines and Processing Technology of the Technische Universität Dresden, an expert watttron team is working on the project: “Development of a Measurement Setup for Material Characterization and Determination of wall thickness distribution through in-situ strain field measurement“.
The goal of the project is to develop an innovative modular measurement setup for bi-axial material characterization, which serves as a data foundation for thermoforming simulations and the comprehensive calculation of wall thickness distribution for quality assurance in one-sided strain field measurement.
Our team has initiated a constructive development process, with a focus on enabling both the bubble inflation test for material characterization and a one-sided optically transparent thermoforming process within a demonstrator.
Stay tuned for further updates!
The project is funded by ZIM. ZIM stands for “Zentrales Innovationsprogramm Mittelstand”, which means “Central Innovation Programme for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
